Gary Lucy Dancing On Ice

Since we last spoke to Gary Dancing on Ice has started.

With just 5 days till the boys perform we grabbed Gary for a chat

“Hi all. After sitting out week1 and watching the girls perform its really hit home that anyone can go.

Sinitta finished the night with high scores from the judges yet still went out.

In my opinion Sanitta skated with grace and Id like to add it was a pleasure spending time with her and her family and im sad to see her go.

This week Maria and I have really hit the road running with two great training sessions. Im still not ‘giving it large’ enough but hopefully with confidence it will come.

Maria has been trying to teach me to spin, ‘trying’ being the operative word. Its so hard but i will keep trying, its something id love to be able to do. With each element i am shown the more my respect for the pros i have. AMAZING !

Anyway im off home now to ‘visualize’ the routine. Ha Ha.

Well from all of us good luck over the next few days and be careful with those spins.

With the launch show for Dancing On Ice approaching fast we managed to grab Gary for a quick chat

”Friday is our launch night, the nerves are kicking in but feeling really excited now.

Been busy doing lots of interviews which is all good so be sure to look out for those !

Yesterday was really hectic, we had a preview for show 1 live on Sunday. This was a ‘dry run’ and gave me a good insight as to how the night may go. Which is good …. and bad ! lol.

My costume is hilarious and sure to give you all a good laugh, Leaves little to the imagination…. im not even going to mention the dance belt (thong) we have to wear !

Anyway ive got practicing to do, see you soon”

Well thanks for that and keep safe.

You can tune in to watch Gary Lucy on Dancing On Ice 2010 on Fri 8 January 2010 and Sunday evenings.

So with Christmas out of the way and the New Year approaching we caught up with Gary.

” Hi all ! Hope you had a great Christmas. Ours was amazing due to India being at that magical age. Her face when she woke up was priceless and one I will remember forever. With the New Year fast approaching I want to wish you all a happy and healthy 2010. Im taking it easy over new year as you know the clock is ticking with respect to Dancing on ice so as clear a head as possible for me at the turn of the year !.. It wouldnt be fair on Maria if I started throwing her around feeling worse for wear !”

“They have started to advertise Doi 2010 across the ITV stations the promo looks great. A big thank you for all your messages of support and for putting up with me on my Gary_Lucy twitter page !  Im going to try and get a little practise in before we head back on the ice ‘officially’ January 4th. So Gary whats been happening ?  ” Well ITV has announced the names for Dancing on ice 2010 and yes I am one of them. I have been training hard with my lovely partner, whose name im not yet allowed to announce (ITV rules)

It’s a she I can tell you that much !! After 2 months of pretty much falling flat on my backside im now with my music and a routine for week 1 in January. Up until now everything has been professional but relaxed. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean, who are as lovely as you see on the TV !

Everyone has given a lot of their time to put us in as good a place as possible. However as Christmas looms the launch show for DOI 2010 is creeping ever closer and to say nerves are creeping in would be an understatement….. im bricking it ! So in a nut shell i will be tweeting away and giving regular updates on the official Gary Lucy site, so please enjoy the ride with me !!………. however bumpy it may be ! Thank you for your support. Gary”

Well that was a live insert from Gary. So thank you and we will all be watching !

Gary leaves The Bill

It is a sad day for both us who enjoy watching and Gary who enjoyed working at ITVs The Bill. After four years of playing Will Fletcher. Gary said ” I enjoyed filming The Bill and made some great friends both in front of and behind the camera. I just felt it was time for a new challenge. The cast and crew saw me through the first four years of my daughters life and shared many joyous moments with me, Ones i will never forget. A big shout to Chris Simmonds and John Bird who both helped me through my bike crash. I leave the show in a strong position on at 9pm thursday evenings on ITV1 and wish everyone all the success in the future.”

Well we will miss ya in the cop cars and uniform !
